I am not currently CRLA certified, but I will be CRLA Level 1 certified by the end of the Spring 2024 semester.
How have you represented Northeastern Peer Tutoring on Knack?
On Knack I have been able to make connections with lots of students in Northeastern courses that I have taken. I have been able to use my own experience at Northeastern and this platform to help support other students with success in these classes.
How your experience as a Northeastern Peer Tutor has impacted you?
As a peer tutor, I have not only helped other students understand class material, but I have learned a lot from working with students as well. I have developed my own communication skills and understanding of class material as I think about unique ways to help each student grasp information. Also, I have been able to learn new study strategies from tutees that I can apply to my own studying, which has been beneficial. Hearing positive feedback and witnessing tutees understand material after working with me has also had a great impact, and I appreciate knowing that the work I am putting in is actually helping other people succeed.
