How have you represented Northeastern Peer Tutoring on Knack?
I try to facilitate a self-learning environment in my sessions by guiding students in the right direction for when they are struggling with problem solving. Of course, every student has a different need, so I alter my approach in different scenarios. In general, though, I believe that the best way to learn in courses that rely on the application of knowledge for evaluation is by figuring things out (mainly) on your own.
How your experience as a Northeastern Peer Tutor has impacted you?
My experience as a Northeastern Peer Tutor has made me realize a lot of things about both my peers, as well as myself as a student. Looking back on some of the content I tutored for, I realize that it was a lot simpler to grasp than I had remembered.
For concepts which I spent hours on my own trying to understand, I was able to help students grasp within a session. I am glad I was able to make the experience of these courses better for my students. I have also opened my own eyes to different resources available to me to make my own learning experience more efficient.
