As a Northeastern Peer Tutor, I draw on the lessons and experiences from my classes to support other students. I create a space where they feel comfortable asking questions and do my best to offer examples that are memorable. I’ve learned that each course requires its unique approach to studying, and I’m happy to represent that trial and error do lead to success.
How has your experience as a Northeastern Peer Tutor impacted you?
It is easy to underestimate our capabilities when it comes to learning. Tutoring has helped me recognize how much I’ve learned, especially in explaining biological concepts. My experience as a tutor has been incredibly fulfilling, especially when I receive messages from students telling me how well they did! Being able to help others enables me to learn the material further and improve my teaching and speaking skills.
