What courses do you tutor? MATH 1365, MATH 3081, CS2500, CS2510
How long have you been tutoring? Since September 2020
What is your CLRA Level? CRLA Level 1 Peer Tutor
How have you represented PTP? I represent PTP each time I have a session by digging deep with the tutee. My goal for each session is to work with the student so they are organized and confident in their success for the rest of the course. I hope that all my tutees feel they can continue the course on their own but aren’t afraid to ask for help if they need it (college is hard, we all need help sometimes).
How has PTP impacted you? Becoming a peer tutor has been so humbling and rewarding. When I feel that a student has learned something from a session, I have an unbelievable sense of pride knowing that maybe I helped them get a little closer to achieving a goal. Not only do my sessions help the tutee, but they allow me to exercise my teaching muscle and help me understand course material at a higher level. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be in the peer tutoring community, and I honestly can’t wait to get back to it this fall!
Student Testimonial: “[Zelda] did an amazing job. I really enjoyed the session and learned a lot.”
