The Peer Tutoring Program is committed to building strong and sustainable partnerships with faculty in order to firmly ground tutoring as an extension of the classroom experience. Faculty often refer students to the Peer Tutoring Program either to request tutoring assistance, or to become peer tutors. A faculty can require or recommend peer tutoring, however it is always the student’s responsibility to schedule tutoring appointments. Also faculty involvement in the recruiting and selection process of new peer tutors is crucial for the Program in order to provide targeted and high quality of tutoring assistance to students. Even though the majority of peer tutoring offered by the program is one-on-one or small group by appointment, the faculty can request the following services for their core courses:
- Reviews
- Embedded Tutoring
- Project based
- Problem based
- Modern Language Conversations
- Supplemental Instruction (SI)
- Designated Tutoring
